'Happiness is the only thing that multiplies when you shared it' --Albert Schweitzer
SHARED HAPPINESS EQUATES POSITIVITY
“Smile and the world will smile back to you. Spread happiness and you’ll be amazed on how life brings happiness to you and to the persons around you.” Happiness is indeed free of charge and all of us can enjoy this privilege even without paying any single cent. So, why need to be selfish and stingy in sharing this to others? Isn’t it happiness, is what our world needs now? At present, we are facing various dilemmas in life, in fact, we’re still suffering from the horrendous and unbearable effects of this pandemic due to COVID-19. Despite all these, we’re still standing strong and continuously fighting for us to survive because we’re armored with love, faith, joy and happiness in our hearts. Thus, I strongly believe that Albert Schweitzer is correct when he stated that happiness is the only thing that multiplies when you shared it.
After contemplating, I realized that we’re on the same side of the boat when it comes to our stand about happiness. In fact, this simply defines my philosophy in life and I hold on to it until now. A great lesson in life taught to me by my parents since I was young. I am certain that every action corresponds to equal reaction, a reflection that we may also connect to Physics’ law of motions. For instance, when we do something positive or good to our fellowmen, we’ll also receive positive effect or good karma in return. Furthermore, it would be better if we’re doing good things or acts of kindness genuinely not because we want something in return. True happiness can be achieved when our heart is filled with joy and gladness because we’re fulfilled and satisfied with the work we’re doing for others. Through this, it really supports Wikipedia’s definition of happiness which is term used in the context of mental or emotional states, including positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. It is also used in the context of life satisfaction, subjective well-being, eudaimonia, flourishing and well-being.
Undeniably, there are many reasons for us to smile and to be happy each day. Waking up every morning to see another day and be with our family is something to be thankful for. It gives us hope that life is beautiful and it allows us to experience genuine happiness which is full of positivity. Remember that every little thing we do can make a great impact in the lives of others. Without knowing that this simple act for us will be a huge source of happiness for others.
Similarly, as Myke Celis once said “Your happiness can’t be based on the approval of others. It should be based on how much fulfillment you have and how complete you feel.” This statement simply reflects that our own happiness does not rely alone on someone’s approval but it should be based on our own contentment and how we‘re able to inspire others because of genuine heart.
