Love is a strong affection, profound and a benevolent care toward someone. The mirth of love is that gaiety which bond and the emotions of feeling one shows to render in passion.          Thus parental love for the family is a willing responsibility and obligation that can never and shouldn't be abdicated from the family circle. The absence of parental guide and love induces the subjugation of fear, vulnerability, timidity, downcasting and dehumanization.           Family, the smallest unit of group that makes up the society is very quintessential that parental love needs a springing and a flourishing quantum of love. The greatness of any given society is made from a giving home of discipline, care and love. This qualities, no doubt; it can only be achieved with the presence of parental guide and love.            Our society today are violent and chaotic because the up bringing of the child lack love fr...

He is the boss of the family and solves all the problems. He is supportive and is always thinking of the family and serving them selflessly.  Father has a profound influence in the lives of his children. His words of wisdom and great advice are always helpful in times of adversities. He sets an example for all to follow. He helps in raising good kids. He teaches them good values which help them to be good adults in the society. He builds their self confidence and makes them feel secure and protected.  A father teaches his children to be fearless and truthful. He helps them to overcome their fears. Abraham Lincoln once said " God must love a common man, He made so many of them." Paternal originally a French word meaning "father" and paternal love is the feeling and action given by a father to his children. A typical family always consist of parent (father and mother) and their children. But nowadays, broken family happened with some acceptable reasons, therefore, fathers left his family or sometimes mother lived by herself. Still, children are the one who's affected a lot.  A fathers love contributes a lot to the childs growth and development, for shaping their attitudes and personalities upon their growing stage.  Father is the sons first hero, and a daughters first love. A son usually looking up after their dads, the strength and power  he show on how to support his family. Children engaging with their father most often while growing tend to be more behave and develop a sense of communication and interacts well with others. They build a strong confidence...

The pattern of an average family throughout the world is majorly paternalistic one barring a few societies where only maternal superior calls the shots. This is a general picture all over the world. One of the main reason behind this precept is that due to physical prowess of the man, it was fairly assumed that he will go outside and fetch foodstock and other household necessities for the family. Later on with the growth of civilizations, the spread of literacy and learning took to new heights. People started to grow in the form of more educated and aware human beings. In this transformation also, the men took the lead because of their outgoing and extrovert persona. The women lagged behind by generations from men in this regard. As a consequence, men were considered to be more knowledgeable, more intelligent and aware than their female counter-parts. That is how the paternalistic system originated in the families apart from the polity and the in the social system at large.   ...

Let me begin by asking a question? Have you ever tried riding a cycle with a single wheel?   If not impossible, you will definitely admit, it is not an easy thing to do. Of course, it is a given, you will fall off it at some point, unless you possess tremendous acrobatic skills.  Ok, now how about riding a cycle with two wheels?  Ah there, you will say, that won't be so hard.  Why?  Well, you now know the answer. A cycle having two wheels provide us with stability, balance, and that much needed confidence one requires to ride ahead, while desiring to reach one's destination. Similarly, a family achieves its stability and strength through love, affection and protection of 'both' the parents. So, how important is paternal love to a family?  I will say, it's very important. Looking at the example above, I will say, a father in the family is akin to the front wheel, and riding with it in tandem, the accompanying back wheel, is the mother of the house. With...

Parents are the paradise of the child. Parents are the religion of the child. Parents are the holy places for child. For our parents we are in this world. Parents love is selfless. Parents love is long and powerful. In many different shades their love comes in our life. They protect us from every thorn. They are our lights in dark cave of our life. Father and mother’s love is like the two side of a coin.           When we say the word parental we mean to father’s love. The hero of every child. Father is the protector and provider of a family. There are no set up roles for a father. He plays different role such as guide, friend, mentor etc. He is the pillar for the development of a family.          Our society gives a little value on the role of fathers. But from my experience I can tell that father is the person who bears every odd silently. He makes our life a bed of roses keeping the thorns aside. My father plays a great rol...

PATERNAL LOVE TO THE FAMILY by Kolongs Victor

Paternal love is the father's side of parental care, affection, and responsibility rendered to the family. Paternal love is more than just a mere love. It's largely a sacrifice, because it involves risking one's life for the family without second thought. It's action oriented, and therefore goes beyond rhetorics. Some people try comparing father's love with that of a mother. What is their basis if I may ask? While we talk of mother's love in terms of affection, that of a father metamorphosis into sacrifice. Paternal love is like an ideology which influences a man to lay down his life in it defense. A father goes extra mile to dream for the family and aggressively pursue it. His love for the family is a holistic one. Do we wonder why there are more widows than widowers? Well, the father is the soldier of the family, a risk taker, and a sacrificial Lamb. More men die from the stress accrued in the heat of fending for the family. Sometimes the father starves himsel...

INTRODUCTION An African proverb says the love of a father is everything because a father is the bread winner of every family mostly in the patriarchal nature of family system because of the nature of a man, he is the pillar of every family life. MY EXPERIENCE  I had wonderful experiences as a child, the love of a father is the best and the most desirable. I had everything and I think my father is the best father on earth. I and my siblings went to the best schools and had all the best treatments. We lacked nothing and got everything and it is for these reasons I want to write some of the few things fathers are expected to do for their family as they things I enjoyed from my father.  A FATHER MUST BE A FATHER A father is not just a leader or the pillar of a family by words but by action, he posses lots of qualities to guide, protect and make sure that his family gets the best of medical care, education, shelter and food as the basis necessity of life. A father is the head of hi...

I CAN'T BREATHE by Charles David

I'm a blackburn warbler among you, Singing quietly for safety in the edge, Life's gift may not bevel and waste, By the sidewalk of the city streets, Let the evil tidings delight to devour, In absence of good morals and vigor, We pray for peace and wish it endure, Respect and create peace that's equal, I'll struggle to pull by every light break, Say my prayers and go fainthearted, To till and seize the rocks with my teeth, Dance out natively and hold spirituality, That's how the black is simply made, Golden family of Sub-Saharan Africa, Worn sign of resentment and wade, Brothers of African spirit that matter, We petition the dark nights to be over, And treats of races and people unequal, Less there'll be no more people to cover, When the black and brown is to the wall, The shallow breathe and fretful sleeps, Systems that patronise classes of race, Homeowners driving em' into foreclosure, And public enforced restraints to outspace, I can't breath, cuffed a...

Feeding Good Thoughts By Ven-Lyn A Valdez

Feeding Good Thoughts (Paternal Guidance) If your wife is working, then you're the man of the house. If you want to see your children growing up responsible, God fearing, self-reliant, healthy and happy., this article; maybe  is meant to help you out.  Remember, parenting requires a lot of patience, discipline and huge understanding. However, if you're a father this task is quite harder and difficult to achieve, but not impossible. Commonly, for some typical parents, the mother is the one closer to the children, genetically, traditionally and that's a proven facts. Though, most parents have their own strategies in molding their children's ability in coping life in life's own terms but still it's up to their guidance to show them the right or proper ways and moralities. Please allow me to excerpt this quote from Proverbs 22:6 that says, "Train up a child in the way they should go, and when they are old they will not depart from it". This is actua...
