Feeding Good Thoughts
(Paternal Guidance)
If your wife is working, then you're the man of the house. If you want to see your children growing up responsible, God fearing, self-reliant, healthy and happy., this article; maybe is meant to help you out. Remember, parenting requires a lot of patience, discipline and huge understanding. However, if you're a father this task is quite harder and difficult to achieve, but not impossible. Commonly, for some typical parents, the mother is the one closer to the children, genetically, traditionally and that's a proven facts. Though, most parents have their own strategies in molding their children's ability in coping life in life's own terms but still it's up to their guidance to show them the right or proper ways and moralities.
Please allow me to excerpt this quote from Proverbs 22:6 that says, "Train up a child in the way they should go, and when they are old they will not depart from it". This is actually true, what we feed to our kids and how we train them is very much essential to their own development. So, let us break this saying into pieces. First, "Train up a child" now the question lies into "how" because theirs is actually no proper schooling in parenting and how we develop our child into responsible human beings.
How to give all the love they need without spoiling them?
When a child asks for something like junkfoods or even chocolates and we think ,it has no nutritional values, we often neglect to refuse for some reason maybe because we love them so much, or being powerless when they start to cry. Well, refusing is not a bad thing actually, enabling is. You need to make them understand why you forbid them, explaining is very important in a way that very understandable to their young age.
Secondly, "Walk the talk.." It means that saying no and also not showing them that you have eaten it, too. Next is, "in a way that they should go.." This is quite similar in "walk the talk". The children learn from what they see or hear, this is a delicate process in a child's development. You must do the role modelling for your children. When you say no, never say yes later on. When you say that's off limit or forbidden, make them understand why it is, in a simple and understandable manner to them.
The last part is an exact assurance of the outcome of our efforts in guiding our children's mental and physical growth.
What we sow is definitely what we reap someday, a simple logic of life. Feeding the right words are vital to a child's upbringing like going to church, listening to sermons, reading them right materials, a balance diet and playing the right kind of toys (not toy guns) but those things which is beneficial to their brains (abstract and puzzles). A healthy and peaceful environment would also helpful for them to focus more on studies and harnessing the gifts and skills.
Being a dad or a mom is wonderful feeling and also a very tough job.Our paternal obligation and guidance is very important to our children, for they are the future of our society. This responsibility must not be set aside, and just let them cope up their own. A sacred duty that every parent must deal with sensitivity and care.
