PATERNAL LOVE TO THE FAMILY by Auwal Ibrahim Abubakar

INTRODUCTION

An African proverb says the love of a father is everything because a father is the bread winner of every family mostly in the patriarchal nature of family system because of the nature of a man, he is the pillar of every family life.

MY EXPERIENCE 

I had wonderful experiences as a child, the love of a father is the best and the most desirable. I had everything and I think my father is the best father on earth. I and my siblings went to the best schools and had all the best treatments. We lacked nothing and got everything and it is for these reasons I want to write some of the few things fathers are expected to do for their family as they things I enjoyed from my father. 

A FATHER MUST BE A FATHER

A father is not just a leader or the pillar of a family by words but by action, he posses lots of qualities to guide, protect and make sure that his family gets the best of medical care, education, shelter and food as the basis necessity of life. A father is the head of his family while the wife is the supervisor and an assistance by his side that make sure all agreed directives are observed and strictly followed even at his absent.

THE ROLES OF A FATHER WELFARISM

A father provide money for the welfare of his children in every respect of life towards their happiness and well being, a father supposed to be a benevolent figure of his family, he supposed to treat his family with passion and compassion for the family to consider him as the father. A compassionate father get a reciprocal love from his family, and look unto him with respect and obedience that make the family to listen to his advices and commands towards a good life.

GOOD FEELINGS

A good father most have empathetic feelings for his family, he should not allow his family to wander with hunger and wallow in pains of sickness while he is alive and healthy, parents that neglect their children in misery get hates and scorn from their children as the reward of their inability or coward. A father must have a sympathetic feeling for every member of his family to carter for the needs of the family as provided in the human rights values provision.

PLAY WITH THE FAMILY

A father should also have time to play and study his children to understand their behaviors and also couch them about the norms of life. A father should create a time to play with his family as a way to stay close and strengthen the family ties. Telling stories or reading story books to children is one of the ancient ways of teaching and guiding children to good life and exposing them to good values, traditions and norms. Children love to hear animals performing human activities that capture their attentions and always, they also want to do the good things from the stories and shun the bad behaviors.

LESSON CHECK

 A good father monitors the school activities of his children and to know their performance, through that a father can make good changes for the betterment of his children. Children are not left alone to decide on their own but a father can express his care and love to his children by making sure they are doing the right things at school. However visiting the school is very important to know how they children operate.

AVOID CHILD MOLESTATION

Family is gift of God and we should not allow them to suffer like garbage. A good father strive to carter for his family, he don’t offer them to hard labor like hawking, house work and sexual abuse. Good father make sure his wife never be exposed to maltreatment to provide for the family.

CONCLUSION

Love of a father to his family is stated in the constitutions and the universal declaration of Human Rights Values.  A paternal love most exits and be practiced by fathers in making sure that children and wives get essential needs to satisfy their hunger, shelter, education and access to health. By law fathers that violate these doctrines are supposed to face the wrath of the books for corrections and enforcement. Family has no any love and compassion than that of a father and every father must build his own entity of love for his family to enjoy and prosper.
